Remember Haiti by sharing the good news, too.

January 12 is the 2nd anniversary of the catastrophic earthquake In Haiti that caused unbelievable death, suffering and civil destruction. As we pause in respect to remember, we will be inundated with media reminders of the horrifically sad details and with disturbing analysis of slow progress and continued dysfunction in the country. But there are also many signs and examples of positive outcomes of international support and local initiatives to report. Haiti Village Health is one. In the past 24 months we have enhanced our training of Haitian medical staff, doubled clinic capacity and expanded outreach programs (women’s and children’s health and water sanitation) to neglected villages in the north of Haiti. And we started the new year with plans and resources in place to build a new clinic facility in the little village of Bod Me Limbe. On January 12 we remember to thank our Haitian colleagues, international volunteers, donors and supporters everywhere for helping to make life a little healthier, one day and one village at a time. Please share this message with others who want to know more and help again!
