Haiti Village Health launched the WASH project in February 2012 aimed at improving access to potable water and sanitation in the Bás Limbe region. To date, one project has achieved completion, three are underway and several projects are currently being planned in conjunction with community committees.

Roof Refurbishment Project Update

We are excited to report that Santé Pou Yo clinic is now functioning under its much needed and much anticipated new roof. The timing of this completion coincides with the passing of Hurricane Isaac and the upcoming return of school classes.

Traditional Birth Attendant Training – A Day of Recognition

On Friday June 29, 2012, Haiti Village Health celebrated the achievements of the trainees involved in the Traditional Birth Attendant (TBA) training program. Gathered at the guesthouse for the afternoon alongside the TBA trainees, were all HVH/Santé Pou Yo personnel, Dr. Emmanuelle Britton, Women’s Health Director and Hannah Steadman, Country Director. Miss Youselène Pierre-Louis, (Santé Pou Yo nurse and Traditional Birth Attendant trainer), conducted the ceremony as the audience members discussed the training program, shared stories, ate, sang, danced, and gave thanks.
